Pastor, Dr. Alvin W. Gills

Pastor, Dr. Alvin Gills is a native Houstonian, born and raised in the heart of Fifth Ward, Texas. A 22-year incumbent and retired police officer, Alvin has been married for over thirty years to his beautiful, creative, and anointed soul mate, Lady Dr. Alma L. Gills. She is also a retired 22-year tenured police officer. This marriage is blessed with two daughters, Ariell L. Ramsey and Alnae’ L. Wyatt.

On December 10, 2000, Alvin preached his first sermon at the Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church under Pastor Arthur Ray Young and was classified as a Licensed Minister. In 2005, A Child Is Born Church ministry was originated in the house of Alvin and Alma Gills. God gave Pastor Gills the vision of the Labor of Love

Christian Fellowship Church. Being obedient to God’s instructions, A Labor of Love Christian Fellowship Church was birthed on January 14, 2007. Rev. Dr. Alvin Gills was formally installed as Pastor Dr. Alvin William Gills, Founder of A Labor of Love Christian Fellowship Church.

He conducts religious worship and performs other spiritual functions associated with beliefs and practices of religious faith and provides spiritual and moral guidance and assistance to the members and the community.
